Historical Background and Establishment of the Trust

The present building of Jama Masjid Shaheen Bagh and its system of management have a long and noteworthy history. The land used for the mosque was acquired in 1991 by *Mr. Islamullah Parimi and his wife, Mrs. Abida Khatoon.* Subsequently, legal arrangements were made for the management and administration of the mosque, as well as for its construction and development.

Shaheen Jama Masjid Trust was formally established through a Trust Deed dated 25 February 2011, with the objective of organising the management, construction, maintenance and related religious and welfare activities of the mosque.

Subsequently, through a Supplementary Trust Deed dated 30 September 2013, further matters relating to the administrative structure of the Trust and its Trustees were formally incorporated. In the same year, a Memorandum of Oral Gift was also prepared in respect of the mosque land, creating a documentary record of the land being gifted/dedicated in favour of Shaheen Jama Masjid Trust by the relevant family heirs.

Thus, Jama Masjid Shaheen Bagh has, for several years, functioned as a mosque under the management of a duly constituted Trust and has served as a centre for religious, educational, social and welfare activities.
