About Us
Jama Masjid Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, is an important religious and social centre where, alongside worship, various activities related to Qur’an and Hadith education, religious and moral training, and social reform are carried out. The mosque’s purpose is not limited to the five daily prayers and Friday prayers; it also aims to introduce the local community, particularly the younger generation, to the basic teachings of Islam.
The mosque regularly conducts the five daily prayers, Friday prayers, Taraweeh and other acts of worship. In addition, a Qur’an lesson after Fajr and a Hadith-based reminder session after Asr are held regularly. Religious and educational programmes, guidance on Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Qur’an and Hadith lessons, and other educational activities are also organised from time to time.
During Ramadan, collective Qur’an study sessions and congregational Qiyam-ul-Layl are also arranged on the odd nights of the last ten days (Shab-e-Qadr).
The mosque is also home to Madrasa Taleem-ul-Qur’an, where children receive Qur’anic and basic Islamic education. Alongside this, free academic guidance is provided in school subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English, with retired teachers voluntarily offering their services.
Jama Masjid Shaheen Bagh is striving to develop into a centre of worship, education, training and community service, while its administrative and welfare activities are overseen by the Jama Masjid Shaheen Bagh Trust.
